Sean Walsh, Field CTO, Lightbend, Inc.

Mr. Sean Walsh has been Field CTO of Lightbend, Inc. since May 15, 2017. Mr. Walsh served as Partner of Zensar ThoughtDigital, LLC. In this role, Mr. Walsh was responsible for managing the development of business applications leveraging J2EE and .NET technologies. He is a 20 year veteran of IT and has previously held various leadership roles in the tech industry. In 2011, he embraced Akka as the cornerstone of an IoT platform for the Viridity Energy software stack of CQRS/ES microservices. As a result of that experience, he founded a consulting company to evangelize, architect and implement reactive technologies at major enterprises around the world. Mr. Walsh also works closely with project teams advising them on technology architecture and system integration matters. Prior to co-founding ThoughtDigital in 2000, he served as the Director of Systems Development for K. Hovnanian Enterprises. Mr. Walsh previously founded a consulting firm focused on trading and energy management systems whose clients included Con Edison, Alstom, Chase and Bank of NY. He is the author of Reactive Application Development, published by Manning. Mr. Walsh holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Monmouth University.
